Description Cross in memory of the victims Baturin. After the order of the Russian Tsar Peter I, an army under the command of Alexander Menshikov November 13, 1708 captured Baturin. Small Cossack garrison in the fortified fortress and gave the Russian army weapons difficult fight. But the city fell. Revenge for disobedience by the Russian tsar was merciless - almost all were destroyed, regardless of age and gender. They also destroyed all the churches and monasteries.
